Class and course FAQ’s And Policy:
Our Cancellation or Reschedule Policy
-
We offer refunds under the following circumstances:
- If the service was provided with an unacceptable level of care and skill, e.g. when no tutor was present at a class.
- If the service was not delivered within a reasonable time and no agreed end date was set e.g. when a class was canceled without offering an alternative date.
- If the service is unfit for its intended purpose.
We do not provide refunds when:
- the customer changed their mind
- the customer insisted on receiving the service in a specific manner, contrary to the provider’s recommendation
- the customer had an issue with the service that was beyond the provider's control
- the customer did not clearly communicate their requirements to the provider
In practical terms this means
- We do not offer refunds for any circumstances related to a communicable disease pandemic or epidemic, including Covid-19.
- The maximum refund per person will not exceed the amount paid for that person’s portion of the booking.
- If your booking is canceled, postponed, or cannot be fulfilled by SGC Art Studio, please contact our Customer Service team directly for guidance on your refund.
Please be aware that when you book a session for a specific time and date, it is crucial that you are able to attend as scheduled. The session cannot be automatically transferred to alternative times or dates if you are unable to attend the originally booked session. Changes in availability after booking do not typically qualify for a refund.
However, we recognise that unforeseen circumstances may arise. You may request to reschedule to another time and date, noting specific deadlines and any applicable cancellation or rescheduling fees detailed in the following section under Exceptional Circumstances.
Additionally, when you book a pottery-making workshop, it is important to understand that this does not guarantee the final outcome of a pottery item. Occasionally, items may experience breakage or damage during the firing process, and glaze results can be unpredictable. SGC Studio is not liable for such outcomes, and refunds will not be issued in these cases. As a goodwill gesture, we may offer you a Clay at Home kit so that you can recreate and have fired an item of your choice.

Private classes
If you need to cancel within the 7-day window up to 12 hours before your class due to exceptional circumstances, such as severe illness, we can provide a refund minus a 50% cancellation fee per guest. However, cancellations made within 12 hours of the class will incur a 100% cancellation fee, with no exceptions or credits provided.
You may reschedule your class 7 days before the commencement date. You may only reschedule your class once. Notice must be given 7 days before the commencement date of your class via EMAIL.
If you only notify us that you wish to reduce the number of people attending the class within 7 days of the commencement date, we unfortunately cannot issue you a refund. If you wish to increase the number of people attending the class, please email us at least 5 days before the commencement date of your class.
Please contact us via email if you wish to talk to us about changing the number of people attending the class.
Guests who are unable to attend the rescheduled class date will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee, which means that we cannot issue a refund if you fail to attend the rescheduled class. As we cannot reschedule a class within 72 hours of the starting time of the class, the class will proceed for the other guests as usual.
No exceptions or credits will be provided.
Please note that your deposit is non-refundable.
3.Artist Courses
As we incur high costs to run these courses, our cancellation/rescheduling policy will be different from that of the other classes. As such, we need to know the exact number of attendees beforehand. If for whatever reason you can’t attend your mastercourse, any refund requests will incur a 100% cancellation fee. However, if we can find another student to purchase your place, we may waive this cancellation fee at our discretion.

We may take photographs or videos during classes for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please inform us in advance.
