Other FAQ’s

  • Come in clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy.

We provide aprons to wear, but if you like you can bring your own apron.

Please feel free to bring your own drinks and nibbles (that do not produce lingering smell) if you like. We do not provide wine glasses at our studio so please bring your own.

We ask that you please keep our studio clean and tidy and take any left-over food and/or drinks with you when the class finishes.

  • There is both free and paid on-street parking available on Waymouth Street. Please allow sufficient time before your class to find a parking space.

  • The capacity differs depending on the class that you choose to book.

For wheel-throwing pottery-making classes, we can accommodate about 10-20 people. If you would like to book a 20-people  wheel-throwing class, the attendees will need to take turns to use the wheel throwing machines.

For other classes, the maximum number of attendees is 45 per class.

  • Our studio is accessible and wheel-chair friendly.

Please note that customers who have mobility issues may not be suitable for wheel-throwing pottery-making classes.

  • Yes, you can decorate our studio for your private event with a service fee of $30 if you wish! You can come into our studio 20 minutes prior to your event to set up the place. We only ask that you please after the event clean and restore the studio to its original condition and take any decorations/drinks/left-over food with you.

  • Different courses may suit children of different ages, please check out the webpages for our courses for more information.

Our studio reserves the right to inspect your ID for proof of age. If we think a course is not suitable for children, we may refuse entrance to the course. For example, wheel-throwing class is strictly for customers over the age of 8. If you are refused entry to a wheel-throwing class because you are below the age of 8, we will not issue you a refund.

In addition we offer Clay at Home Kit for purchase – this is a great way for your kids to explore their creative side at home! We will send you all tools and materials needed for the Clay at Home Kit so you can also enjoy clay-making at home with your kids!

  • We will not replace your lost vouchers. Please treat your vouchers like cash.

If you purchased a class by vouchers and the class got cancelled by us, you would be entitled for a refund. Your refund will automatically go to a new voucher for the same value. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.

  • Typically, pottery pieces undergo four processes after the course ends: drying, bisque firing, glazing, and glaze firing.

These items are usually ready within 3-4 weeks after the course begins. Drying time depends on the weather and the size/thickness of the pieces, while both bisque and glaze firings take approximately 24 hours each for firing and cooling.

While we strive to expedite the process, please understand that subsequent tasks are numerous.

To avoid disappointment, please inspect your pieces two weeks after the course ends and check the pickup schedule beforehand.

If your artwork is ready, your class date will be listed on the page where you will pick up your pottery. After that, we'll keep your work for another 6-8 weeks. If you do not come to collect your pottery creations within three months of the course, we will assume that you do not want them and they will be sold for charity and the proceeds will be donated to non-profit organisations.

  • Unfortunately, we are not able to offer make-up sessions or refunds if you are late for a class.

If you are more than 30 minutes late, our tutors reserve the right to refuse your entrance and there will be no refund or rescheduling of your booking. This is because latecomers can be very disruptive for the resut of the class and our tutors have a lot to cover in a class and they may not be able to complete everything if the class does not start on time. No refunds will be given if you are denied entry.

  • Please check out our webpage for the specific class that you have booked to see what and how many pieces are made in each class.

If you’d like to make extra pieces on top of the number of pieces assigned for each attendee per class, we’ll happily fire and glaze them for $20 per extra item.

We also offer delivery of your ceramics at the cost of $35 per item if you can’t make it back to our studio. For more information, please visit the shipping page on our website.

  • Our classes have a minimum number of attendees required to run the class. In the rare event that a class doesn't have enough students enrolled, we will have to cancel and reschedule your booking.

  • If your pottery cracks in the kiln, we understand how disappointing that can be. Pottery can sometimes develop cracks due to improper handling during the creation process, such as air bubbles or uneven thickness. If this unlikely event happens to your pottery, we are happy to arrange a time for you to make a new pottery piece.

  • Yes, AfterPay is available at checkout for supplies directly and also through a code for our courses.

  • There are detailed steps on how to collect your pottery pieces on the walls and tables of our studio. When you collect your pottery piece, please let our staff members know the date of your class and bring a picture of your piece to help us locate it. We hope you understand that we have a large amount of pottery pieces so a description like ‘a round blow’ may not be very helpful for our staff members to locate your piece.

There can be over 1,000 pieces on the collection shelves. It can be tricky to locate your piece if it has been accidentally put on the wrong shelf so please be patient with our staff members when collecting your pottery piece.

In the unlikely event that your piece has gone missing (e.g. it could have been collected by another customer by accident), we will offer you a voucher to attend our class to make your unique pottery piece again.

If you purchased extra pieces on top of the number of pieces assigned for each attendee per class, we would issue you a refund only for the extra piece that you have purchased.

  • If your artwork is ready, your class date will be listed on the page where you will pick up your pottery. After that, we'll keep your work for another 6-8 weeks (i.e. we will keep your work for a maximum of 3 months starting from the date of your course). If you do not come to collect your pottery creations within three months of the course, we will assume that you do not want them and they will be sold to charity and the proceeds will be donated to non-profit organisations.

  • Please make sure we look after each other. We expect all participants to conduct themselves respectfully towards instructors, staff, and other participants. Any form of disruptive or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the class without a refund.

Damage: Participants will be held responsible for any damage caused to studio property due to negligent or improper use.
