What you'll do

A creative 8 week after school pottery class where kids can explore clay, learn handbuilding techniques and create their own unique ceramic pieces. Designed for children aged 7 to 15 years, this beginner friendly program introduces a variety of handbuilding pottery techniques in a relaxed, creative and supportive studio environment. Parents are also welcome to join and create alongside their child, making it a lovely shared activity for families. Throughout the eight weeks, participants will explore pinching, coiling, slab building, clay sculpture, stamping, surface decoration, marble clay, painting and glazing. Students will create a variety of functional and decorative ceramic pieces, including cups, bowls, plates, planters, sculptures and more. They will be encouraged to experiment with different shapes, colours, textures and ideas while developing their own creative style. By the end of the program, each participant can expect to complete approximately 8 to 9 unique ceramic pieces. No previous pottery experience is required. Our instructor will demonstrate each technique step by step and provide guidance throughout the creative process, while giving every participant plenty of freedom to explore their own ideas. We can arrange one complimentary reschedule during the 8 week program. All clay, materials, glazing and kiln firing are included in the class fee. A fun and creative after school activity for kids who enjoy making, exploring and learning new skills, with plenty of handmade pottery to take home at the end of the program.
